[HowTo] Coral & Gold Tips

Hello everyone!

It's so rainy and floody today with the monsoon. I hope everyone is safe and is helping out with the relief operations.

I decided to do this nail to just brighten up my mood after going through a pile of clothes I'd like to donate to the relief operations.  Everything's just been so gloomy and dreary today so I needed a diversion.

I also got this new app on my phone called Rakuga Cute so I decided to make it simpler by just doing a collage.

Nail polish used are:

Orly Honeymoon in Style (base)
Orly Luxe (gold)
Etude House Look at My Cotton Candy Nails COR201

I hope you enjoyed this super mini how to.

Stay dry and safe! Let's keep praying.

Top 3 Glowy Pink Blushes!

Hello again!

I've just recently been obsessed with pink, glowy blushes and I just wanted to share with you my current favorites

Here they are! Aren't they pretty?

First up is of course the one I formulated..

Love Minerals Blush in Pink Quartz

This product is 100% good stuff...

No parabens, no mineral oil, no glycols, no lake dyes, no artifical fragrance...

100% nasty stuff free!

Only the good..

This blush has a silky texture that leaves both a nice pigment and a nice glow on the cheeks.. The tone is more on the old rose kinda pink instead of a bright pink...

Super inexpensive.. It retails for Php225!  Can you believe that? So cheap for all the benefits that you get!

Next is the Marble Marble Blusher by Etude House... This is shade #2 Pinkholic

I like this blush which somehow is more of a highlighter for me...

The shimmer is amazing.  According to the sales person in the store it will make your skin appear clearer, which it actually does!

It looks like one of those Mac Mineralized blushes... But it's  really inexpensive.. It was around 9,000won which is roughly Php360!

Kanebo Kate's Cheek Color Dual in PK-1.

I really like this because it has it's own brush ... But slightly on the expensive side because it costs around Php700-Php800 even for a drug store brand..

This blush may fool you but it's actually pretty pigmented... It's more like a candy coloured pink....

Swatches!

From left to right: Love Minerals, Etude House, Kate

(with flash)

(without flash)

I really am a fan of light pink glowing cheeks nowadays because it gives a very youthful kind of glow...

Wearing Kate

Wearing Etude House

Wearing Love Minerals

There ya go!

Bye for now!

[Review] Random stuff I got from Korea last Christmas..

Hola!

It's been awhile and I've been to random places and back.. Bought a bunch of stuff but still haven't done any reviews about them... What a waste!

So now.. I really want to take this chance  to do random reviews of recently bought stuff..

This will be a how to / review ...

I'll start of with this wonderful new brand I recently found out about in Myeong-dong.. Too Cool For School...

They have their own independent store in Myeong-dong but I got mine in Toda Cosa located in Dehakno... Near Sungkyunkwan University...

Don't they have the coolest name?

I got this BB Foundation Lunch Box.. Isn't the packaging so cute?

Taken from Too Cool For School...

The artwork is by this English artist named Anke Weckmann...

So what it is - a BB cream-foundation hybrid... That also offers HD-ish coverage... (i know i know.. I speak alien)

It comes with a built-in spatula for ease of dispensing... Not the most sanitary way to dispense it I must say... But it does it's job.

Here's the product... I like the shade.. Its not ghastly white...

The consistency is surprisingly light. Not so oily.. It's just perfect and a little product goes a long way.

The smell is not too strong which is a major plus for me.

Before and After BB/Foundation

So it's not only a BB/foundation but it also comes with a concealer and a highlighter thus the name - lunch box. (connect?)

Swatched on my hand.. Natural lighting...

on the left is the concealer, right is the highlighter.

I've got nothing bad to say about the concealer... It's really creamy and easy to apply.  It has medium coverage that disguises imperfections quite decently.  It's not heavy at all and the best thing is it's neither tacky or sticky...

The highlighter is also good.. Although I can't come up with a decent review about it because I'm new to highlighting and I don't do much highlighting when my skin is not in very good condition.

I usually just use it on my undereyes..

Because they're so dark...

So overall I really like this product.. It doesn't really affect my skin condition.. neither in a positive or a negative way.

I got it for 18,000won which is pretty okay coz if you convert that to peso its just around PhP720.  Which gives you 4 products in one:

♥ Foundation
♥ BB Cream
♥ Concealer
♥ Highlighter

Up next is this Faceshop Acne Solution Concealer...

This is what I put on all my acne scars... Since I've been having such  stressful days these past few months...

It's a very pigmented product that you only need so little of it.. I only use this much and it's sometimes too much for my blemishes...

It's fairly easy to apply.. you just dot it on your blemishes and then use a clean finger to dab it so that it blends with the rest of your face..

I haven't seen actual results that they worked... but it works as a concealer..!

Ta-da... (it seems like no concealer can make my eyebags disappear)

Next is eyeliner... I have 2 eyeliners to review...

Its the Proof 10 eyeliner from Etude House....

The Proof 10 Line is supposedly their waterproof eye products...

It's easy to apply and comes in an automatic swivel up format that is very convenient...

It also comes with a sharpener if you want a more defined line...

The formulation is very soft w/ very fine gold flecks of glitters that are not visible when you put it on your eye...

Good thing about it is it doesn't give me panda eyes but the lasting power isn't really this eyeliner's strong point..

Packaging is cute though!

Next eyeliner is.. by Holika Holika...!

The eyeliner is called Enamel Magicara... Why...? I have no idea.. Don't you think their concept is straight out of Majolica Majorca? Even their name... Howellz.. I still love Holika Holika!

It's made by a credible makeup company that manufactures quality makeup brands like Enprani.. which a more premiun range compared to Holika Holika...

Packaging is pretty simple.. Applicator is nice...

It's amazingly waterproof I must say but the good thing about it is its easy to wash off.. Especially with Human  Nature Sunflower Cleansing Oil..

It enables you to create really thin lines ...

I really love this product... Too bad we don't have it here.. Thailand has Holika Holika!!! But we done... >,<;;

Swatch of the Etude Proof 10 Auto eyeliner and the Holika Holika Enamel Magicara..

You can see how intense the liquid one is...

And then.. Here they are after 2 hand washes..

The Holika Holika is still looking as if it's freshly applied whereas the Etude one is almost gone...

Holika Holika eyeliner FTW!

Soo my camera ran out of battery... So I'll be using my phone from the next photo onwards.. (sucks)

Eyebrow stuff!

Its actually this one... Color my brows by Etude...

Photo from Etude House
Comparing this with my Lash Styling Mascara by Lunasol, this brow mascara by Etude has a lighter texture that's easier to apply... Lunasol's formulation is very waterproof that's why it hardens right away which makes it slightly difficult to blend with the natural strand of the brows...

I like this product.. It's inexpensive and it works... The only drawback is the size. It's really small.. However, it was only 6,000won... roughly PhP240! Compared to Lunasol's which was around PhP1,500-Php1,700... O_O

The brow cake shown here is by Nature Republic...
Photo from Nature Republic

I really like this cake because it's very basic with all the necessities needed for you to draw your brows on. It doesn't have the white powder that usually comes with eye brow cakes that I barely use nor do I know how to use...

It also comes with 2 brushes... that makes application a breeze!

Yikes... These are old stuff.. Just photos to show you what I've used.. I plan on sticking to these two thing for as long as I can.. They're the products that work for my lashes the most...!

Kate Mascara base and Maybelline Cat Eyes Volum' Express

They deliver results!! Ta-da!

Well that's it for now..

It's not even half of the stuff that I have.. >,<

Hopefully I'll be able to update this blog more often...

Cheeky smile for this cheeky Saturday!

What's up male makeup models?

I just realized this a month ago.. I really am sheep.

While I was showering this morning I was listing down all the cosmetic brands that I want to visit for my December trip to Seoul and then it hit me. All these places have male models as their front "man"!

Starting off with the ones available here in the Philippines.

Here's Lee Minho for Etude House...

Although Etude House also has 2NE1 as their model...

When you go to their shop, the first person you'll see is Lee Minho.

Next ... Exhibit B.. is Face Shop... with Kim Hyunjoong. With the success of his recent drama "Playful Kiss" I'm actually not surprised with this marketing move for Face Shop.

I really don't like the brand... I swear, I don't like their chalky eyeshadows nor do I like their overpriced mediocre lip products... But when I saw them change their forefront man from Bae Yongjun to Kim Hyunjoong... just like a woman in a trance I found myself stepping inside a store.

But the magic ended there.. on his face coz of course I didn't buy anything. But still, this thing works! Just like the previously mentioned brand, The Face Shop also has a woman endorser in the form of Jeon Jihyun of the whole "My Sassy Girl" rage...

Again, although she is still the endorser for the colour cosmetics, the first thing you'll see in the window when you walk by is the huge face of Kim Hyunjoong.

Other brands that do this are:

Baviphat... not yet available in the Philippines but just like Face Shop, Etude House, etc... it's a mass market brand pretty much targeted towards teenagers.

Baviphat hired F.T. Island. A Korean band that's super popular with the young crowd because of their charismatic and cute personalities..

There's also It's Skin with 2PM.  This is again, not available here... 2PM is a boy band with a beastly image... So I don't know how they're able to pose with makeup. Haha!

There's also the newbie... Holika Holika.

I really think this is a Korean ripoff of the Japanese drug store brand Majolica Majorca which is under Shiseido.

It has the same eerie concept that you might find with Kate Cosmetics as well.

They used pop rock band CN Blue as their image models... They actually look good with the concept. Not as weird as the 2PM one. Haha

Also.. last but not the least is ...

OF COURSE TONY MOLY with SONG JOONGKI-my-husband! HAHA

It's actually not only done in Korea but in Japan as well... Here's Jun Matsumoto for Fasio...

He is part of the boyband Arashi...

And here he is endorsing a mascaliner... A mascara and eyeliner in one! (I think it's really an innovative product! I don't know it's because of Matsumoto Jun that I've been brainwashed to think that way!)

If you would notice, all the brands that use these tactics are mass market brands you would consider as drugstore brands and such... As a conclusion from this observation this is because these brands are targeted towards a younger audience and is playing up on the "fan girl" side in every girl...

More exclusive brands such as IOPE, IsaKnox, SK II wouldn't even use such male models because the target market for those brands are more on the career women in their 30s.  I doubt that there are a lot of 30+ year old fan girls.  (Although I think I'll still be one until the age of 60!)

In the end... This tactic really works I can personally say that it does judging from my Face Shop story, same with Tony Moly. I wouldn't even go inside a Tony Moly store before but because I want to see more of my husband, Song Joongki's face.... I definitely will. I might even buy a thing or two just to receive some merchandise with his face on it~!

Hahahaha!
