Missha The Style Perfect Mascara Base / FOTD

I'm currently a fan of this seller on ebay she's bhappywithme. She's got all these korean cosmetics that you don't really see in skin food or in the face shop.. (i don't really frequent laneige)...

Anyhoo, this was just something I got as my sister was buying this Missha Procure UV Hair Mist thing from her as well. I decided to just get something so the shipping fee won't be much of a waste...

I've also been searching for a replacement for the current one I'm using which is KANEBO KATE MASCARA BASE... It's almost running out and it's not really available here. I have been scouting for a mascara base and i found out in shiseido that the maquillage mascara base is PHP 1,700. Heck no.. I ain't buying that...

Lucky enough I saw this on ebay for PHP 300. :P

Well... main difference between this Korean one with my current Japanese one is that it lacks the micro fibers that you would usually see jutting out of the brush once you pull it our of the tube..

It's also only good for 6 months after opening so I must consume this tube quickly...

Last difference I saw between MISSHA and KATE.. Missha's is similar to the mascara base that you would usually see in the those double ended mascaras western brands like LOREAL, MAYBELLINE carry...

It does thicken and lengthen the lashes except that it considerably feels heavier on the eyes.. >,<
On my face today:

  • Nature & Co Essence C
  • Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil
  • Nature & Co Day Care UV Essence
  • Skin79 Gold Caviar BB Cream
  • Ellana MMU Foundation French Vanilla Latte
  • Ellana MMU Blush Happiness
  • Lavshuca Eyebrow Pallette
  • VOV Castledew Mousse Eye shadow silver
  • Coffret D'Or Lighting TD Eyes 04
  • Maquillage Pallette
  • Bloom Liquid Eyeliner Dark Brown
  • Kate lip gloss
This is my retarded face for today... using the KATE one of the left eye and MISSHA on the right eye...

Doesn't look like much of a difference but they FEEL very different from each other especially when I take them off...

KATE for the win!

But MISSHA ain't that bad... XD

Aqua nails!

I just remembered i still have unopened nail thingies from my last HK trip.. So i had to make use of them somehow...
nail stuff used:

  • the face shop (aqua)
  • wet n' wild (base colour it's actually iridiscent in real life)
  • HK nail art thingies
  • random nail repair top coat

putting nail polish did a good job at hiding my broken/glued nail that was split at some point in trying to yank out the press on nails i was previously wearing because i didn't want to remove them with acetone because i wanted to reuse them... >,<;;

Kose's Nature & Co - Skin Care Reviews

I saw this brand in the newspaper today and decided to do some product research since it's well.... competition!

According to the article, this is Kose Co.'s answer to the rising enthusiasm of Asia for organic facial care.... They're an affordable line of organic facial care with 8 products ranging from PHP 395 ~ PHP 995. (US$ 8.50 ~ 21.00). They're so much cheaper than Kose's skin care lines such as Sekkisei, Junkisei, etc. Which is why I'm really surprised. I actually want to know why they made it at this price point... Could it be that they stole our idea? Wahahahaha...

They do not claim to be 100% organic... According to the Japanese lady it's about 80% organic.. (Ha!)

Anyway, I saw the pretty packaging and decided to give it a try.. ^^

I got the Pure White Day Care Essence UV SPF50+ PA++ and the Pure Essence C...I decided on these two products since I needed something that i can easily fit in my regimen... And the Vitamin C is my answer to my acne scars...

Pure White Day Care Essence UV SPF50+ PA++

I haven't tried on my face yet.. But it's so easily absorbed by the skin and it doesn't feel icky sticky. Has a very milky texture like the Biore UV Milk...

So small though... just 25ml.. however accourding to the Sales consultant you only need 2 drops of this and it will be okay for the whole face...

Pure Essence C

As for this one... i think it's a pretty good deal since it 30ml and you really only need to use a drop per application.

I tried it tonight after cleansing and toning... It was a pleasant smell... Not the organic smell that smells like butt..

It smells of a synergy of citrus essential oils and herby essential oils.. I like it.

The consistency is a bit watery but it adds to the fact that it's easily spreads on the face.

Packaging looks similar to everything else out in the market and logo is reminiscent of C.O. Bigelow...

I heard that they'll be coming out with Powder Foundations by next year. I don't know if I'm willing to try that out.

Anyway.. I heard some inside scoop...

ESPRIQUE PRECIOUS WILL BE COMING TO MANILA NEXT YEAR!

I'm so psyched...

I actually hate the fact that Fasio is now obsolete in the Philippines but I guess Esprique Precious is one thing I can look forward to. Been dying to try their pallettes since forever....

Purple Lined FOTD & Ellana MMU blurbs...

Freshly applied in the morning...

I actually like my cheek makeup more than my eye makeup today... coz my eyes seem to be weirdly red... probably poked it at some point...

It's just a normal day at the office... And i don't know.. I was feeling purple and I wanted to use some of the makeup i have that i haven't been using like the COASTAL SCENTS 88 SHIMMER PALLETTE, INTEGRATE PALLETTE... etc...

Stuff used:

  • Human Nature Sunflower and Papaya Day Moisturizer
  • Human Nature Sunflower Seed Beauty Oil
  • Skin79 Gold Caviar BB cream
  • Ellana MMU french vanilla latte
  • Ellana MMU Radiant Concealer (not in the pic)
  • Ellana MMU Fetish Blush
  • Ellana MMU Flirtation Blush (not in pic)
  • Coffret D'Or SA Pallette 04
  • Integrate Pallette
  • Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer pallette
  • Kate Mascara Base
  • Maybelline Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara
  • Face Shop black eyeliner
  • Coffret D'Or Shine Drape Glow PK-238
oh.. I don't think i put anything on my lips yet in the piccie.. hahaha

anyhoo... I still am having problems with my base makeup as it always appears caked after awhile.. i really think it's my body temperature coz i've tried applying sparingly with a brush.. or with a coverage of a sponge..

Etc etc blablabla.. they all cake at some point..

SOS!! Please someone help me..

Anyway.. I've been using Ellana MMU as my base makeup for over 3 months now.. and i'm happy that i'm not breaking out or anything taking into consideration how sensitive my skin has become over the past couple of years....

However I still haven't found the best shade for my skin... I think NC30 fits me perfectly since I'm yellow.. As 02 of Body Shop's All in One Face Base fits me as well...

BUT!!!! in ellana i can't really find it...

I have this thing of getting foundation that's waaaaay darker than what the sales consultants would recommend like my perfect shade in Coffret D'Or would be BE-D - which is their darkest shade in the entire range!

So initially when i received samples from Ellana they sent me the hazelnut thing... and it was too dark for me...

I did try the caramel latte that my sister didn't end up using but it was still dark... so i stuck with cafe mocha which is a medium shade with olive under tones... it still seems too light....

so i got the lighter shade in the yellow tone category which is the french vanilla latte... but.... still it's light....

i just think it's so much of a hassle to combine shades but i might end up doing that since i love ellana so much coz it's so affordable and they've got a wide range of products to choose from.. even their brushes are lovely!

Sigh...

I'm still frustrated... me and my weird reverse acidic face.. everything turns light on me!!! >,<

ORGANIC MASCARA!!!! No way!?

So this is hecka long overdue...

As I was breezing through the aisles and aisles of cosmetics in Target a month ago I naturally gravitated towards ORGANIC WEAR.. The organic makeup line my PHYSICIAN'S FORMULA that's ECOCERT-ified... (lame)

Anyhoo.. I figured since I'm in the same industry I should give it a try... Marketing research? R&D?
Whatever.. I just wanted new mascara... And since mascara is the most likely to have all the horrible stuff like mercury and other heavy metals.. lo and behold ... I bought it...

I was so excited to try it!

The packaging is cute... and it seems like it's a lot of product.. it's 7.5g... and they claim to be 100% naturally derived ingredients... how cool is that?

Brush looks good eh? Reminds me of those Cover Girl ones that Queen Latifah was advertising a few years back...

I love the BRUSH... but i can't say I love the mascara itself...

First of all, it's stays wet... in other words.. IT NEVER DRIES UP! which will eventually lead to smudging...

well..... mascara's main purpose i guess is to darken and thicken the lashes... all it does is darken it..

oh well... Can't complain.. it is 100% naturally derived after all.. meaning it doesn't have the silicones and the synthetic rubbery gum stuff they use on waterproof mascara....

I guess this is also a good thing... there's so much room for me to create a more awesome one!

I don't think I'll ever repurchase this mascara again...

I only use it now as a mascara base before a "legit" mascara...

Ho hum...

Maybelline Cat Eyes! Review

I never read any review about this mascara.. .I just saw it from the local magazine and decided to give it a try...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE MAYBELLINE VOLUME EXPRESS CAT EYES WATERPROOF MASCARA!!!!
Damage on the wallet : PhP429.00 (Nothing beats that!!!!!!)

It's so cheap.. I have nothing bad to say about this mascara.. First of all, the packaging is great.. Packaging means a lot to me... And this mascara didn't fail in the aesthetic department... ^^;; I'm not a fan of animal prints (even if I love So Hot by Wonder Girls)... But it works in this packaging... ^^;;

Volume - Volume is great... It thickens the lashes without clumping.. It also has this darkening effect that makes your eyelashes appear very dark and shiny... almost to the point of being a JAPANESE MASCARA!!!

Length - It does a pretty good job in lengthening ... but it's not it's main feature.. :P

Brush - the brush comes in a comb.. it's great for the no clump effect and it distributes product very well into the lashes...

Waterproof - it's definitely waterproof and it doesn't smudge at all! It's perfect for the rainy day... ^0^;; It's somehow hard to take off... but with my trust Cleansing Oil and Facial Wash, it comes off completely.. (lovE! love!)

This is my eye with the mascara.. I love it... it doesn't come off as over the top... it's natural with an oomph! (excuse my eyelid glue... it's oh so obvious in this picture)

5 STARS AND 5 HURRAHS FOR Maybelline!!!
